My fellow Americans, four of the last seven presidents have been left handed. The current presidential contest between Barack Obama and John McCain will result in another left handed president, because they are both southpaws. So it doesn’t matter who you favor, the result will be a lefty as the most powerful man in the free world.
Wow, that's interesting! I wonder of all the Presidents in our history, how many were right-handed and how many were left-handed? And from those two groups, how many were considered "great" presidents, how many were not re-elected to a second term, etc.
ReplyDeleteIs George W. Bush right-handed? Haha.
My best friend's younger son is left-handed. She's always telling me she thinks he's going to grow up to be an artist. His refrigerator art is quite outstanding already!
ReplyDeleteI'm right handed but have always been fasinated by the number of famous people (or infamous as the case may be) who are left handed. My daughter is ambadextrious (sp?)but not one person in my family is left handed. I even go so far as to notice the handedness of actors when I watch TV and films. Weird huh?
ReplyDeleteI am right handed.but tried so many times using my left. In fact 2 years back my right hand was operated and I was not able to work with my right - thanks to the left I manage to work with ease - lol :D
ReplyDeleteWell this is a nice fact, even if i am right-handed ! U should tell us more facts about left-handed guys LD
ReplyDeleteThe seven would be Bush II, Clinton, Bush I, Reagan, Carter, Ford, and Nixon. Bush II, Clinton and Reagan were the two-term presidents. (Nixon is funky bc/of the impeachment thing.) Couldn't tell which were the lefties, though.
ReplyDeleteVery well researched fact about US presidents.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that so many of our leaders were left handed. This makes me believe that my daughter who is left handed is going to be a great woman, and someone that will be looked up to. This is awesome information and I thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand (heh-heh), Joe Biden and Sarah Palin are both right-handed. Would a presidential ticket be stronger if both its candidates were lefties?
ReplyDeleteWow, I remember my mom saying something about of presidents being left handed. Of course she is too. She was hoping for so long that one of her grand children was going to be. Thanks for the facts.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that left handed and right handed individuals may have different ways of thinking. They believe that left handed individuals can process many different concepts at once. It is a good trait for a president to have, and maybe that is why there have been so many left handed presidents.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't scientific by any means, but my best friend is also a lefty who just also happens to speak four different languages. Perhaps further studies of this process would allow even right handed individuals the advantage left handed people are born with, or would at the very least further the understanding we have of the human brain.
ReplyDeleteAnd did you realize that both our President elect Obama and his rival McCain are left handed?
ReplyDeleteI believe being proud lefthand. As a child was told I was evil. My teacher would hit my left hand. It would hurt so much. Most of teacher were white. I wonder to is day . What ever happen to those teachers. Who hurt childern like me. Being told you are evil.
ReplyDeleteYolanda, I'm so sorry to hear about the abusive teachers of your childhood. (Most likely they are leading miserable lives.) Always be proud of who you are!
ReplyDeleteMy 2 years old daughter is lefthanded. She loves to draw, she's advanced for her age and she has the energy of a boy hahaha her pediatrician said she's a sporty kid!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many "right handed" presidents were really left handed but were switched as babies. That is an interesting thought.
